Antique candlestick or candlestand. Made by Tiffany & Co. 1891-1902. <P><P>
Measures 8 inches tall. Diameter of base is just under 4 3/4 inches accross. <P><P>
Wide base with folded bottom and silver edge. Near the nape of the stem is a ring of applied silver florettes. Very pretty repousse flowers with foliage pointing in each direction.
The candlestick has a small knop and long, elegant upper neck, almost like an animal bone. The bobeche is removable for ease of cleaning and also has a silver rim. Basic metal appears to be copper.  <P><P>
Signed underneath the base: TIFFANY & CO.; 15035 MAKERS 4567; STERLING SILVER; 925-1000; T; AND OTHER METALS. <BR>
The T stands for Charles L Tiffany (founder of the company and Louis' father). Pieces were signed with his initial, T, 1891 - 1902.  <P><P>
Good condition.  Bobbeche is very slightly off the round, which is normal for a piece of this age.
