US size 5. Weighs 6.1grams. Measures 19mm (3/4inch) top to bottom / length and 16mm (5/8 inch) accross the bezel (width).
Exceptional miniature portrait of a little girl / young lady set in a ring. Octogonal in shape with bevelled glass cover. An inner gold frame with a blue enamel
border, conforming to the octogonal shape. Wide gold sides of the bezel with most interesting display of the tiny gold nails that hold it together. Shoulders are in
the form of large bows with the ribbon theme continueing into the shank as engraving. The arching back of the ring is entirely enclosed in gold.
The miniature portrait is of a very pretty little girl or young woman. Her auburn hair held back in a red bow - you can almost see that it was brushed for the
occasion. A pearl necklace around her neck. Bright blue eyes and rosy cheeks. Beyond the snub nose, one can see a little person of character and beauty to unfold.
The ring is very beautifully made and stunning in both size and design. The blue enamel contrasts and sets off the yellow gold. The painting is of a very high
standard and highly attractive. Finest brushwork. Portrait rings are difficult to find, but portrait rings of this quality are exceptional and extremely rare.
French hallmark for 18k gold on the shank.
Good condition.
