US size 7. Weighs 4.5 grams.
Central cushion-shaped sapphire is approx 0.50 carat.
2 cushion shaped rubies, approx 0.50 carat.
2 old mine cut diamonds, approx 0.35 carats.
5-Stone ring. A pair of rubies, a pair of diamonds and a central sapphire. Each stone with a wonderful clear colour, good light and vividness. Stones are simply
faceted. Colette settings, the rubies and sapphire in yellow gold, the diamonds in silver. As in all early, Georgian jewellery, the metal is pulled around the
stones, pinched for decoration and added strength. In order to show off the stones more effectively, they are raised in a double-storey arrangement, the bottoms
engraved with simple geometric patterns.
Shoulders in the form of branching foliage. Particularly fine and detailed. The band/shank with engraved diagonal lines. Decoration is simple, yet rich and shows
that this was intended as a highly luxurious item.
No hallmarks found, as is to be expected of jewels of this age, but acid tested for 18k gold.
Good condition.
