Measures 10 1/4 X 6 5/8 inches.
Painting of a number of sailing ships, looking very fierce, if bedraggled, at day's end. Huge clouds in a darkening sky. One of the ships appears to be on fire. Men in a row boat, highlighted in red by the sun's dieing rays, row away from it. The top of the mast of a sunken ship appears in the foreground. Choppy seas. painted on copper, which is very slightly buckled.
Signed lower left James Webb. Probably can do with a good cleaning.
