Handpainted miniature painting in the old Persian and Indian tradition. Painted on old paper, the painting itself is not old.  

Painting itself measures 3 3/4 inches by just under 6 inches, including the script on the top of the painting.  

Painted on old paper in immitation of the old masterworks of the Persians and Mughal emperors, this painting depicts the Lord Krishna and his consort, Radha. Seated

on a lotus flower, they are intertwined, both physically and spiritually, each with a dreamy look on their radiant faces. They are surrounded by a beautiful garden,

full of lotus flowers and other blossoms and trees with a variety of foliage. Each figure is richly bejewelled with strings of pearls, bangles, earrings etc. THe

traditionally blue Lord Krishna with a golden crown on his head and a huge garland of flowers around his neck. Subtle gold highlights. 

While this painting is no antique, it is charming and very well executed with great attention to detail and beautiful result. One can peer at the figures for hours

and try to imbibe the peace and radiance of the figures.
