Product Description

A handpainted miniature painting of an Indian soldier on horseback and another figure riding an elephant. THe paper is old, but the painting is not old.

The size of the entire page is just under 9 inches wide X 12 1/4 inches long.

The artist has used old paper that has a blue stamp from the Jaipur Government Court. A great way of recycling and going green.

The paiting depicts two figures, riding a horse and elephant respectively. The elegant, prancing horse, with a richly bejewelled and well-dressed rider brandishing a

long spear. The aigrette in his turban with flying feathers. Wonderful detail from the diaphenous outer robe to the floral silks of quiver and saddle. Behind is an

enormous, lumbering elephant, not only jewelled on each leg with golden bangles, but with rubies and emeralds around his head and neck. On a huge floral rug is a

simply dressed and turbanned rider, possibly the servant of the horseman. Notice the bell under the elephant's tummy. Each elephant had a different bell so that the

elephant keepers would recognise them from a distance.

Paper and painting are in good condition.
