Measures a little under 1 1/2 inches accross. Weighs 10.8 grams.
Generally oval in shape with a scalloped, scrolling repousse gold outer border. The ground is slightly arching, blue enamel, set in the center with a rounded rectangle of gold, framing a beautifully painted
miniature eye portrait. The portrait shows a good part of the side of the lady's nose, her fine brow and brown locks. Soft honey-brown eye. The back of the brooch is entirely closed as to be expected in
Georgian jewellery, with a long pin and simple C-clasp, also indicative of the age.
Lovely quality to the gold, enamel and portrait.
There are no hallmarks but gold stays at 14carat.
Condition is very good.
