Porcelain sculpture - figural perfume or scent bottle in the form of a Chinese boy. Dates to the 19th century, probably French or German. A little over 5inches high. Stands on a naturalistically coloured round base. Hands clasped inside wide sleeves. Beautifully modelled blue pants and facial features. A board around his neck - hints ominously at his headless future. Stopper in the form of the removable head. Handpainted black 2 under the stopper and 38 under the base. Incised 431. Condition is very good.
