Loading... Please wait...A set of 6 Chinese blue and white plates. Made in China 1736-1795 during the Qianlong era.
Measure 8 1/8 - 8 1/4 inches ( 20.5cm) accross diameter. 1 1/4 inches to top rim (depth).
Round plates with deep bowls. The entire upper surface profusely decorated with flowers and scrolling foliage. All handpainted - no two are identical. Very beautifully done and highly appealing. Backs have long spriggs of foliage. Have very old metal hangers still attached, so can be hung immediately (or slip off the metal hangers).
Considering their age, the plates are in very good condition. They have the usual fritting on the edges and one or two negligible hairline cracks. One plate has a small, shallow rim chip. (see 'photos).
Provenance: bought at an overseas branch of Sothebys.
