Vintage pottery pitcher / jug in the Granada pattern # 3321 by Charlotte Rhead for Crown Ducal, England, 1930's.

Measures: 8 1/2 inches high.

Solid baluster shape with folded blue handle. Ground is a mottled variety of blues, pinks, golds. The top with more golden/orange spattering over lilac blue base and further down toning to a deep blue. A large band of fruit and foliage surrounds most of the surface in a continuous frieze. Plumb or pommegranate like fruit in a deep, rich pinky red, with raised detail in aubergine. These are surrounded by foliage in a variety of pale and dark blues, lilac and lavenders and fantastic lustrous green and coppery gold that have an oil-spot effect, changing colour as the light catches them. All the constituent parts are outlined in metallic lustrous iorn grey. The upper rim has a simple curving diagonal dash pattern. This is definately Charlotte Rhead at her very best.

Marked underneath with handwritten C Rhead in blue, number 1, Crown DUcal England under a crown backstamp in blue, handwritten 3321 over 19 and 146.

Condition is very good. No chips/cracks/damage/restoration of any sort to be found.
