Extremely beautifully made Claret ticket. General rectangular shape, very rich chasing and repousse work with a pair of fan shells around a reserve in which the word
CLARET is engraved and surrounded by bunches of grapes, vineleaves and foliage and other scrolls with a pair of shells partially hidden on either side. Original
silver chain to hang the ticket from a bottle.
Hallmarks: partially worn but still legible: lion (most worn mark); King's head facing right; Maker's mark TE; date mark C for 1826 and anchor for Birmingham.
Condition: good.
