Antique Key. High carat gold (at least 22k) set with a gem. Made in Afghanistan over 200 years ago - 17th - early 18th century. 

Key measures a little over 6cm (2 1/4 inches) long. Weighs 8.4grams.  

Exquisitely hand made key. Fine repousse work with intricate, naturalistic theme, including a deer on one side. The bottom is set with a gem that immitates ruby, but

is probably glass. Can be worn as a pendant or a charm.  

Gold tests at least 22k.  

Condition. Generally condition is good with the exception of the join of the quatrefoil looped top to the main body of the key, which is loose and needs to be

strengthened. No other damage found.
