Product Description

Antique, early Victorian sterling silver stuffing spoons in the Kings Pattern. Made Glasgow, Scotland 1840.

Measurements: Weigh 286.4grams. Length 12 inches.

Pair of identical, long handled spoons - originally used to pull the stuffing out of the cooked food. Big, generous bowls; strong, sturdy long handles with beautiful

repousse work towards the terminal. Foliage, flowers, fleur de lis and scrolls with gorgeous fanlike shells at the end. Kings Pattern. Backs with the same

decoration. Solid, classy and very rich in an understated way. Fabulous workmanship.

Hallmarked on the back of each spoon. Tree for Glasgow, Scotland; lion rampant for sterling silver; date letter V for 1840; queen's head facing left. Maker's mark is

JM JR with the R over a dot, - possibly John Muir or John Murray.

Very good condition.
