Antique, Melon Ribbed Biscuit / Cookie Jar. Glass with silver plate neck and lid. Made by Mt. Washington Glass Co, New Bedford Mass. 

A little over 5 inches to top of the lid. 

Melon ribbed shape. Unusual ground in greens and blues. Handpainted ring of pansies in reds and yellows. Richly patterned silverplate neck and lid in the Japanese taste: profusely covered in repousse flowers with a beautiful butterfly perched on one side. 

Marked on the bottom with puce handwritten 3914 over 835. Inside the lid is a MW mark with number 534.

Good condition. No chips/cracks/damage.
