Antique snuff box. Chinese export silver. Made in Canton, China circa 1850-1900 by Mk.

Measures 1 5/8 inches (40mm) long X 1inch (25mm) wide. Weighs 27.4grams. 

Chased snuff box  Rectangular with rounded corners. The top of the lid is chased and engraved with a variety of floral vignettes. The center has an oval reserve intended for engraving the initials of the owner, but it has been left vacant to date. Inside of the lid has signs of original gilding.
Hinge and thumb piece in good order.

Maker's mark Mk and Chinese chop mark inside the lid. The mark MK was used by a maker in Canton during the 2nd half of the 19th century.
