Antique, Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau Ring. Cabochon sapphire in an 18k gold setting with mask shoulders. Made circa 1890-1905.

Measurements: US size 6 3/4. Sapphire is over 6mm long. Weighs 9.2 grams.

Exceptional Craftmanship: the ring is in rich 18k gold. Modelled with scrolls and flowers in a distinctly Arts & Crafts manner. The shank rises to shoulders in the

form of a pair of grotesque masks of the sort typically seen on a Gothic fountain or other work of art. The masks metamorphosize into the figural foliage and clubs

that hold the sapphire. The gem is of the deepest blue and of a wonderful quality, difficult to find. The contrast between the bright gold and the subtle gleam

within the sapphire adds interest and sophistication to the ring. Excellent workmanship and quality.

Hallmarked inside the shank 18K under PAT APPD FOR.
