Man or woman's: Antique silver and enamel ring in the technique known as Minakari / Minaar from India. Made circa 1920's. 

US size 8-8 1/4. Weighs 12.2grams. 

This ring comes from Rajastan, famous for it's very fine jewellery and in particular, the enamel work on precious metals. A round carnelian, the edges softened by

many years, is set in a pulled metal colette setting (in silver). Below is a riotous scrolling floral design, the colours of the enamel mimicking that of the world:

blue on top, green in the middle and red below. The ring is suitable to be worn by either a man or a woman.
