century.
Total length is 2 3/8 inches (6cm) long. Weighs 15.2 grams.
32 irregular shaped faceted tablet cut diamonds total approx 1.50ct.
Classic Mughal Indian design. This pendant might have originally been used on an armband or turban decoration. Consisting of a central octogonal gold cell ringed by
smaller and larger leaf-shaped gold cells with flaring decoration and a crown on top. Each gold cell is set with a very bright, white, Indian diamond. A gold loop
and wire suspend a pear-shaped baroque pearl at the bottom.
The loop is very sturdy and has ample space for good sized chain. It would have typically been suspended by a thick cord of silk.
The back of the pendant is equally stunning: decorated in the rare minakari / minaar enamelling technique - all in green, with a bird on the back of the large
central cell. The surrounding cells look much like the feathers of a peacock.
Gold was acid tested for at least 22k.
Good condition.
