Antique signed Ferdinand Preiss miniature carved figurines of baby children. Made very early in the 20th century - probably between 1907-1920's, in Germany.

Measurements:approx 23mm (a little over 3/4inches) high. Length of the crawling baby is approx 1 1/4 inches (31mm) total length.

Two toddlers - tiny children, marvellously captured in these hand done carvings. A little child sits and holds out one hand,chubby legs stretched out, a small smile on the tiny mouth. The other child is crawling along, dressed only in a bib, the rest of his body literally 'butt naked'. Details are amazing: from the tiny fingers and toes to the exact facial features and hair. "photos are highly enlarged - see the details of this great quality work. Babies are always cute and these two are exceptionally so, especially the little boy with his naked behind.

Both pieces are signed F. Preiss underneath.

Condition is very good.
