Antique earring and pendant suite. 18 carat gold, blue and white sapphires. Art Deco era, circa 1920 - 1930's.

Pendant is 1 3/4 inches long. Earrings approx 1/2 inch accross. Total weigh 9.4 grams.

Pendant contains a blue sapphire of 2.50 carats and white sapphires totalling 2.06 carats. The earrings each have 1 ct of blue and white sapphires.

Beautifully constructed suite consisting of a very classic pair of earrings with screw-backs (can easilly be converted to posts) and an elegant Art Deco pendant. The geometry of the Art Deco period is

reflected in the cut of the round blue sapphires of the earrings which have large, square tables. The combination of round and square shape is echoed in the setting of the white sapphires around them -

partially circular, but straight lines top and bottom, giving a very smart look. The screw backs ensure that the earrings will sit 'just right' on the ear lobe.

The matching pendant is even more clearly Art Deco with a long line of white sapphires, surrounded by a pair of semi-circles of the same stones and with an articulated join to the larger bottom section, also

a combination of round, square and linear elements. The gold setting has been allowed to show in some areas, framing and highlighting the linearity of the design.

The backs of the jewellery are at least as beautifully made as the fronts with arching and square openwork of the finest quality craftmanship.

No hallmarks were found, but we tested the gold, which stays for 18k and we will guarrantee at least 15k.

Very good condition. No damage of any sort was found.
