Measures 17 inches long. Weighs approx 33 grams. 18 opals weighing a total of approx 7.35ct. 162 diamonds weighing approx 1.60ct.
Beautiful combination of cabochon opals with diamonds. Set in silver with gold back, typical of the VIctorian era. From either side of
the gold clasp: A line of oval opals, each surrounded by diamond semi-circles on either side followed by opals seperated by more complex
diamond scrolling design with the central area, which is the front of the necklace suspending 5 tear-drop opals, set in gold. Lovely
delicate design with flashing stones as light is reflected. The ideal necklace for wearing at night - enriches any elegant outfit.
Gold is not hallmarked, but tested for 18k.
Good condition.
