Antique Victorian chatelaine in the form of a carved belt with buckles, made of antique natural tortoisematerial - circa 1850-1890.

Measures slightly under 5 1/2 inches long.

Beautifully carved in a design that we would consider modern, but dates to well over 120 years ago. Belt theme with rectangles, buckles and rings. Two parts

each attached to a central ring, allows each part to swing independantly as the wearer moves. A loop to hang the chatelaine from your belt and one at the

back to hold your key / other valuable item. The material itself is a lovely mottled warm yellow to brown. All in very good condition with no

damage/restoration of any sort to be found.

Please note that this is natural tortoiseshell, well over 100 years old, legally bought in the USA.
