Product Description
Antique silver tussie mussie / posey holder. Made of silver. Tests for sterling (stays when acid is dropped on it), but in the absence of any hallmarks, we are selling this as silver plate. Decoration indicates late 19th century, Art Nouveau era.
Measures 6 1/2 inches tall. Weighs 45.8 grams.
Conical shape with a finger loop attached at the end of a tapering handle. Loop with small rays. The main body of the tussie mussy is openwork silver in a very rich floral pattern. The front has an oval cartouche for engraving an initial / monogram. The chain with a pin is present and fits well, but could be a replacement (which is usually the case).
