Antique sterling silver picture frame. Made Chester England, 19th century. Rectangular shape with slightly convex sides and rounded corners. Measures 6 1/8inches long and 4 1/4inches wide. Inside measurements approx 3 1/4 X 5 1/4 inches. Original cloth background and wooden back and easel. Extremely elegant, understated. Engraved registry and hallmarks on the side: RD654224. Makers mark JD over WD (possibly James Disdale and ?); lion passant, Chester mark and another mark, presumably the date, that is not clear. Condition is very good. No damage of any sort.
