Antique ebonised wood picture frame, set with natural Baroque pearls, paste 'diamonds' and natural turquoise. Comes with painted miniature portrait of a baby. Made in France, circa 1880 - 1885.

Measures 11 inches long.

Easel frame, can stand alone, but also has ring for hanging from the wall. Dark wood - almost black. Carved with spear-shaped projections at the 4 cardinal points. There is a little shrinkage to the wood,

commensurate with the age. (see 'photos).

The frame has an applied rich scrolling lattice in brass, set with natural turquoise, natural Baroque pearls and paste 'diamonds' (not real). The pearls are very large and would be extremely difficult to

find today. While the decoration does have an accumulation of dirt which should be gently removed, it is in very good shape with one small paste stone missing (shown in the 'photos).

The original miniature portrait of a baby, done in oil was reversed for the 'photos, but is seen on it's own in the last group of pictures. It has a name of either the artist or the sitter and is dated 1885,
