Measurements: approx 1 inch accross the top and 1 1/8inch top to bottom. Weighs 10.2grams.
Brooch in the form of a Pansy. The upper section and top of the back is all 18k gold and the area set with diamonds is in silver (typical of Victorian jewellery).
The upper section is a magnificent deep maroon red colour - quite unique and extremely rare. Moulded details add depth and highlights to the exceptional enamelling.
THe bottom two petals have a fine golden-orange/tan-brown enamelled detail surrounded by finely set old cut diamonds. The border is composed of bright blue plique a
jour enamel - quite exception in colour. In the center of the flower is a larger diamond, approx 40points in size.
Original, secure c-clasp on the back.
Very good condition.
