Total length, including the loop is 2 inches. Weighs 10.2 grams.
Pendant suspended from a matching enamelled wide loop, triangular, tapering at the bottom, with black and white enamelling, gold detail and set with an almandine garnet in a scalloped collet mount.
THe pendant consists of an inner oval panel, slightly rounded, with an enamel scene of the FALL, depicting a fleeing couple, Adam and Eve, being evicted from the Garden of Eden by a pair of cherubic angels.
Set in a gold pleated frame. The central portion seemingly floats inside a gold and white enamel outer frame with almandine garnets at the 4 cardinal points, each set in a rectangular gold mount. Subtly forming the outer border is a scalloped perimeter of black enamel with gold on the outside.
The quality of the pendant is of the best: wonderful enamelling, beautiful pink-purple gemstones in great condition and an all-over magnificent design. Worn on a black ribbon around the neck, it looks stunning.
Hallmarked on the back of the loop with the French 18k gold eagle mark.
Condition is generally very good. A magnifying glass shows that the enamelling is not perfect - see highly enlarged 'photos, but considering it's age and delicacy it is in great shape and there is no flaw visible to the naked eye.
